Clovercroft Elementary School in Franklin scored 99.42 out of 100 in the U.S. News & World Report 2027 Best Elementary Schools rankings, placing it fifth among 690 ranked Tennessee elementary schools.
The K-5 school on Clovercroft Road posted 93% math proficiency and 89% reading proficiency, according to U.S. News. Those figures far exceed both the Williamson County Schools (WCS) district averages of 75% in math and 66% in reading, and the statewide averages of 37% in math and 32% in reading.
Clovercroft ranked third in the state in math proficiency (tied) and seventh in reading proficiency. U.S. News rated the school's performance "Well Above Expectations" in both subjects.
The rankings, published Oct. 19, use state assessment data from the 2023-2024 school year. According to the U.S. News methodology, half of each school's score reflects raw test performance and the other half factors in results relative to socioeconomic characteristics.
Clovercroft enrolls 703 students. On the school's website, Dr. Elizabeth Pulse, principal, described a staff that works "daily to ensure that every student is challenged and grows both academically and socially."
The school is one of 26 ranked elementary schools in the WCS district. The district enrolls approximately 41,000 students across 52 schools, according to the WCS website. A second Williamson County school, Lipscomb Elementary in Brentwood, also appears in the statewide top 10.
WCS earned an Advancing District designation from the state, and 35 of its schools were named Reward Schools for 2025, according to the district's report card. For grades 3-5, the district posted a 75.5% academic achievement success rate and a Level 5 (out of 5) student growth rating in English language arts and math.
Two WCS schools made the top 10.
