Show Hope, the Franklin nonprofit that helps families afford adoption, has reached a milestone. The organization has helped 10,000 children in 65 countries through its Adoption Aid grants since its founding in 2003.
The milestone comes the same week the Grand Ole Opry hosts two benefit performances for Show Hope on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The lineup includes Carrie Underwood, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bill Anderson, Mark Wills, Colony House and Louis York, according to Williamson Source.
Five dollars from each ticket purchased goes to Show Hope.
Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth Chapman, founded Show Hope after their own family's adoption experience. For more than two decades, the organization has provided financial assistance to families pursuing adoption, working to reduce costs that can prevent children from finding permanent homes.
"The Grand Ole Opry has been a very special part of my story since I was a boy listening to WSM radio, and it played a pivotal role in launching my career as a performer," Chapman said in a statement, according to The Music Universe. He called the partnership to celebrate adoption and the work of Show Hope "an incredible honor."
The two Opry shows mark National Adoption Month, observed each November. Show Hope's Adoption Aid grants program has helped thousands of families overcome financial barriers to adoption, The Music Universe reported.
Tickets for both Nov. 6 performances are available at opry.com.
