A four-generation financial planning firm has a new name and a Franklin ribbon-cutting to show for it.

StewardWell Wealth Partners, formerly Thompson Financial Group, celebrated its rebrand with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Franklin office on Wednesday, Oct. 28, according to the Williamson Herald. The Williamson County Chamber of Commerce and the Office of Economic Development co-hosted the event.

The StewardWell name is new, but the business is not. Owner Bryan Thompson's grandfather, Mark Thompson, started a financial firm in northern Maine in 1962. The company grew into Thompson Financial Group, which operates two offices in Maine.

About four years ago, Bryan and his wife, Missy, left Maine for Middle Tennessee, following their children to the Nashville area.

"We kind of just chased our kids," Bryan Thompson said. "But once we got here, we fell in love with it and never left."

Thompson said the rebrand came from a desire to build something that extended beyond the family's last name. Through his involvement with C12, a Christian business leadership organization, and conversations with family, friends and church members, he said he began envisioning a name that better represented the company's values.

The firm provides financial planning services including estate planning, insurance planning and investment planning. Its website describes StewardWell as a fee-only fiduciary.

The company serves clients in both Maine and Tennessee. Bryan Thompson is the third generation to lead the firm. His son, Landon Thompson, represents the fourth.

"This isn't like a three-year plan," Thompson said. "It's like a 100-year plan."

StewardWell Wealth Partners is located at 4068 Rural Plains Circle, Suite 170, in Franklin.
