Franklin beat Summit 24-21 on the road Friday, Oct. 23, in a 6A Region 6 district game that ended a stretch of consecutive district losses for the Admirals.
The three-point win moved Franklin to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in district play, according to MaxPreps. The Admirals sit fourth in 6A Region 6 with one regular-season game remaining.
Details on the scoring sequence were not available at publication. The Columbia Daily Herald, in its Week 10 athlete-of-the-week poll, noted that Summit's Sean Owens "had two interceptions returned for a total of 60 yards and two touchdowns" in the game. The phrasing does not make clear whether Owens made the interceptions or had his passes intercepted.
Franklin entered the Summit game having lost back-to-back district contests to Independence (28-7 on Sept. 25) and Brentwood (23-3 on Oct. 8). A non-district win over Centennial on Oct. 2, 19-14, fell between those losses but did not count toward region standings.
The victory gives Franklin 168 points scored and 186 allowed through nine games, per MaxPreps.
