Franklin's volleyball team swept No. 4 Page 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 on Wednesday, Oct. 7, advancing to the District 10-AAA championship game.

The top-seeded Lady Admirals will face No. 3 Summit for the district title at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Summit High School in Spring Hill. Both teams have already qualified for the Region 5-AAA tournament regardless of the outcome, according to the Williamson Herald.

Franklin controlled the semifinal throughout. None of the three sets against Page was closer than nine points.

The win extends a dominant season. Franklin entered the district tournament at 25-1, with its only loss coming earlier in the year.

Junior setter Emerson Garner and junior libero Maggie Myhr both reached career milestones during the semifinal, the Williamson Herald reported, though the specific achievements were not detailed. Senior middle blocker Brynn Pennington and junior outside hitter Ellyson Fogle also contributed to the win.

Friday's championship will be the third meeting between Franklin and Summit this season. Franklin edged the Spartans twice during the regular season, both times in five sets. The Admirals won 22-25, 25-14, 24-26, 25-15, 15-9 on Sept. 10 and 25-23, 25-20, 18-25, 19-25, 15-13 on Oct. 1.

Summit, the defending Class AAA state champion, reached the final by sweeping No. 2 Nolensville 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 on Wednesday night.

"I think the atmosphere and the energy are still going to be high," Summit senior Emery Estep told the Williamson Herald on Thursday, Oct. 8, after the Spartans' semifinal win. "Even though we still move on no matter what, we want to beat them especially since our last game went to five."

The winner claims the District 10-AAA title, and both teams move on to the Region 5-AAA tournament next week.
