Zula & Mac, the home decor boutique on Lewisburg Avenue, is opening a second location at The Factory at Franklin by the end of November.

General manager Maria Scrimenti told Williamson Scene the expansion will give the business room to separate its offerings under one roof.

"We've been a part of the Franklin community for decades," Scrimenti said. "In the new store we're going to have two designated spaces: one for home gifts and entertaining and the other space will be for interiors, furniture and interior design."

The flagship store at 301 Lewisburg Ave. will stay open. It will continue carrying its full home furnishings, decor, women's clothing and accessories lines, according to FranklinIs.

Owner Pam Hood opened Zula & Mac in fall 2017 after the death of her mother, Hazel Green, in 2016. Green had run Country Charm Antique Mall on the same property for about 30 years, starting when she and her husband Toby Green purchased it in 1987. The store's name ties three generations together: "Zula" was Hood's grandmother, and "Mac" is a nickname for her granddaughter.

The property itself carries Franklin history. The main building housed Henry's Market, a neighborhood grocery, from the 1940s through the 1980s. An adjacent building, now called "The Farmhouse," was once The GilCo, described on the store's website as Franklin's first drive-in restaurant.

Hood's team announced the expansion on social media at the end of August. As of Thursday, Oct. 8, no exact grand opening date had been set.

The Factory at Franklin has drawn several new tenants in recent months. GG Boutique opened there on Feb. 27, and a 120-room boutique hotel under the Marriott Bonvoy Tribute Portfolio brand is planned, with construction expected to break ground in late 2026, according to The Reed Collective.

Updates on the Factory location's opening will be posted on the store's Instagram account, @zulaandmacfactory.
