Franklin High School's marching band opens its stadium to trick-or-treaters on Tuesday, Oct. 27, for the eighth year running.
The Franklin Band's Musical Trick or Treat runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Howard Gamble Stadium, 810 Hillsboro Road. Admission is free. Families in costume walk through the football field, collecting candy from different sections of the marching band while students perform live, first reported by the Williamson Herald.
Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and bring a bag for candy.
"Musical Trick or Treat is one of the ways our students give back to the community that gives so much to them," Dr. Michael Holland, director of The Franklin Band, told the Herald. "It's a chance to share their music, welcome families and have some fun together."
The event earned a 2025 Advocacy in Action Award from Music for All in the Community Involvement category, which recognizes school music programs that connect with their wider communities.
The Franklin Band has won the Tennessee Governor's Cup eight times and received the Sudler Shield in 2014, an honor the John Philip Sousa Foundation gives to marching bands it considers world-class. The program marched in the 2026 Rose Parade, marking 30 years since its first appearance in 1996, according to FranklinIs.com. Holland directs the program alongside co-director Nicholas Blue.
The band has also appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 2024 New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade. Seven Franklin ensembles have been invited to perform at the Music for All National Festival.
