Registration is open for the Franklin Christmas Parade, set for Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. in Historic Downtown Franklin.
The Downtown Franklin Rotary Club, which has organized the parade beginning in 2023, announced that local groups, businesses and performers can now sign up to participate, according to Williamson County Source. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
This year's theme is "Santa's Helpers, Making Spirits Bright." Organizers plan to recognize first responders, volunteers and community leaders who serve Franklin, according to a separate Williamson County Source report in September.
"The Christmas Parade is a holiday staple, and our Rotary Club is proud to keep this wonderful tradition alive … We expect 2026 to be another magical year and look forward to using the parade to honor first responders, volunteers, and community leaders who make Franklin special," Roger Walters, president of the Downtown Franklin Rotary Club, said in a Sept. 23 announcement of the parade date.
Rotary Club members Alan Simms and Sharon Thompson are serving as event chairs. Atmos Energy and Medical House Calls are presenting sponsors.
The parade has wound through downtown Franklin for more than 60 years, according to the Rotary Club's parade page. It follows the city's annual Christmas tree lighting and is held on the first Saturday in December.
The Downtown Franklin Rotary Club, founded in 2017, has more than 145 members. The parade earned Rotary District 6760's Best New Project for a Large Club award for 2023-24.
