Franklin's "Old Old Jail" sold for $4.5 million in late August, capping a 180-fold return on the $25,000 the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County paid for the building in 2013.

The buyer of the historic property at 112 Bridge St. is Loch'ed Out, LLC, a Williamson County-based corporation, as first reported by the Williamson Scene on Monday, Sept. 21. The publication was unable to determine who owns the LLC. The buyer's plans are unknown.

The Heritage Foundation purchased the building in 2013 and spent three years restoring it, renaming it "The LeHew Magid Big House for Historic Preservation" by 2016. The foundation had operated its offices out of the space since the restoration.

The structure served as Williamson County's jail from 1941 to 1970. After that it housed a highway patrol outpost, an employment office, the county archives and book storage for the school system.

The foundation listed both 112 Bridge St. and the adjacent building at 108 Bridge St. for sale in July 2025. The 108 Bridge St. property, known locally as the "Old Old Old Jail," remains on the market. The Heritage Foundation purchased that building in 2022, according to county records cited by the Williamson Scene.

Before listing the properties, the foundation's board unanimously approved a strategy to place protective covenants and easements on both buildings. "This real estate strategy has been unanimously approved by our board as a win-win for the foundation and the community," then-Board Chair William Scales said in a May 2025 statement. Whether those protections were recorded before the late-August closing has not been confirmed in public records.

The Moore-Morris History and Culture Center of Williamson County, previously housed at 108 Bridge St., closed that location Feb. 13 and relocated to the Heritage Foundation's Franklin Grove Estate and Gardens. The center now occupies the LeHew Mansion on the Franklin Grove campus.

The adjacent "Old Old Old Jail" at 108 Bridge St. remains available, though no asking price has been publicly listed.
