Old Natchez Country Club, the oldest country club still in continuous operation in the Franklin area, has a new owner.

Heritage Golf Group, a northern Virginia-based company that now operates 49 clubs across 15 states, announced it acquired the private club at 115 Gardengate Drive in Williamson County. The sale price was not disclosed.

The acquisition gives Heritage its third Tennessee property, joining Colonial Country Club in Memphis and The Club at Gettysvue in Knoxville. Williamson Source reported the deal Sept. 21.

"The greater Nashville area is a natural fit for Heritage and an important addition to our growing presence in Tennessee," CEO Mark Burnett said in a press release.

Old Natchez sits between Franklin and Brentwood off Hillsboro Road. According to the club's website, the property includes an 18-hole golf course, a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse, six clay tennis courts and a junior Olympic swimming pool.

Heritage said it will develop capital improvement plans with input from members and staff. The company said it will evaluate potential upgrades to the golf course, clubhouse and lifestyle amenities, with investments focused on areas that most affect the member experience. No dollar figures or timelines for those improvements have been announced.

Burnett said the company looks forward to investing in the club and building on what he called its long-standing role in the Franklin community.

Heritage's current ownership team purchased the company in January 2020 and has since grown it to 49 clubs. Its most recent acquisition before Old Natchez was The Palisades Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 15.

Golf members at Old Natchez will gain access to the Heritage Plus Network, a reciprocal benefit that provides playing privileges at participating Heritage clubs and other private and daily-fee courses nationwide.

Heritage has not announced a date for member input sessions or a timeline for its first capital improvements at Old Natchez.
